My First Week in My New Home

I have now been in the United Kingdom for a week, and it's quite an exciting endeavour! I have so much to learn about the basics of life over here, and the smallest things are different (or seem to be so, even if, sometimes, they're not)!

The first couple of days here were nice and sunny, and quite warm. However, now, I'm experiencing the (in)famous English Summer, as it's raining...again!

Everyone has been welcoming, and very nice to me, here, even if I am American! I've opened a bank account, and applied for my provisional driver's license (which was an unexpected pain), and am now hunting for a job. I've put together a CV (as they call a resume), and have applied for a couple of jobs.

The village where we live is very lovely, and totally different from anything back in the US! There's a church in the village (Anglican) that was construted in 1150 (or there abouts)! That is just AWESOME!

Today, I was a big boy, and went on a bus all by myself! Yes, it was a bit scary, as I haven't ridden a public bus since 1996, and that was in Detroit! Cheryl dropped me off at the town where she catches the train to work, and I went job hunting, and to the library, and got some food for the house. I also just putzed around town for the afternoon, and took care of some errands, as well. I took the bus home, after asking about 10 people if I was in the right spot (which, thankfully, I was)!

I have to go, but will post updates as I can, and photos when I figure out how to!
